Holiday in Norway, landscapes like in movies, waterfalls, fjords, glaciers, blue lakes, what can somebody wish more? Maybe more wilderness for a country with so few inhabitants. But it is worth to go there just to see the amazing landscapes.
The highlight of our holiday was the six days tour in Hardangervidda, difficult but rewarding for the experience of wilderness and the landscapes which were changing from a day to the next. In the peak of summer there was still a lot of snow laying, the temperature was like in late autumn and the strong wind never stopped blowing.
Our trip continued with a ferry drive through the Naerofjord and a visit to Dovrejfell National Park to see the Musk oxen. We spent some days on the island of Runde where are thousands of sea birds colonies, then we drove to Jotunheim National Park were we walked the famous Besseggen ridge.
With the speed limit of 80 km/h in Norway it is impossible to drive long distances and see more. In six weeks we traveled in the Southern part of the country, the Northernmost place was the Dovrejfell N.P.

2 | Hardangervidda - high plateau with subpolar climate, harsh conditions and wild, a prefect place to experience Norway by foot. On the northern part of the glacier Hardangerjokulen (in photo to the left) started our six days trek through this beautiful national park. | |
